National Educational Technology Standards for Students (NETS)

Standard 1: Basic operation and concepts: Students are proficient in the use of technology.
Standard 3: Technology productivity tools: Students use technology tools to enhance learning, increase productivity, and promote creativity.
Standard 4: Technology communication tools: Students use a variety of media and formats to communicate information and ideas effectively to multiple audiences.


Language Arts
National Standards for the English Language Arts

Standard 5: Students employ a wide range of strategies as they write, using different elements of the writing process to communicate with different audiences for a variety of purposes.
Standard 6: Students apply knowledge of language structure, language 
conventions (e.g., spelling and punctuation), media techniques, figurative 
language, and genre to create, critique, and discuss print and non-print 
texts.
Standard 7: Students conduct research on issues and interests by generating ideas and questions, and by posing problems. They gather, evaluate, and synthesize data from a variety of sources (e.g., print and non-print texts, artifacts, people) to communicate their discoveries in ways that suit their audience and their own purposes.

Content Standard C: Life Science: Organisms and Their Environment
 - All animals depend on plants. Some animals eat plants for food. Other animals eat animals that eat the plants.
 - Humans depend on their natural and constructed environments. Humans change environments in ways that can be either beneficial or detrimental for themselves and other organisms.

Content Standard F: Science in Personal and Social Perspectives
Populations, Resources, and Environments
